Emotive Language

In class we have been talking about Emotive Language, words that help people feel emotions. As a group we created a slideshow of images that match a series of emotive words we selected using a thesaurus. All images were found from a Creative Commons search on Flickr.

What are some of your favorite words to get people feeling emotions?

  1. Jabiz, I love this project - and I'm sure you students did too. I think we rely too heavily on the written word without addressing the visual aesthetic, and it's great to see you hit both in this exercise.

Using images helps with memory, and with vocab it is so wonderful to have an image in your head as well as the word itself.

Of course I am naturally drawn to the use of CC images, so it's great that your students are learning about that as well as vocabulary.

I'm curious - how did they reference the images they used?

Thanks for sharing this link with me.
